Thanks to everyone who copied me on their emails to John Baird about John Greyson and Tarek Loubani, who are stuck in an Egyptian prison.
Developments are VERY worrying: Egypt has announced that they have "evidence" against the two men and have said they have to stay in jail for another 45 days before they are charged. If you have been following the news you know that the two men were imprisoned after Dr. Loubani had been giving medical aid to people hurt and killed in a protest - they say they witnessed more than 50 people being killed before they lost count - and John Greyson, filmmaker, took videos of what was happening.
Tarek and John are on a hunger strike.
Meanwhile the Canadian government is giving aid to Egypt. We must demand that Stephen Harper make it a condition of any aid to Egypt that John and Tarek are released.
