Ontario has finally caught up to BC, permitting same sex families to have the same rights to register their children on the birth registration as opposite sex families do.
This means that the partner of a person when a child is conceived is registered on the birth certificate without a court order. And intended parents whose child is carried by a surrogate can be registered as parents on the child's birth certificate provided that there is a written agreement with the surrogate before conception and after birth - no court order will be required.
